The Enemy's One Great Fear!

"No wild beast on earth is more fierce than the enemy as he pursues his evil intention with ever increasing malice."- Ignatius of Loyola

In Ignatius’s Spiritual Exercises, he writes that when a temptation of a soul is revealed to a confessor, “the enemy is greatly displeased for he knows that he cannot succeed in his evil design once his obvious deceits have been discovered.” The enemy’s one great fear is for us to confess to one another evil temptations and deceitful words he attempts to place in our hearts. Confession is not brought up as much as it needs to because we assume that it is not important as other issues concerning our relationship with God. If this is the enemy’s one great fear, shouldn’t this be near the top of our regards in our spiritual journey? Currently, I would say that I am not doing all that I can to ensure that Satan has this fear. I do confess my sins and desires to God as my prayer is for him to expose and expel them in my life but I need to be more intentional in having a close friend who I confess to.
